From tropical tiki-inspired creations to concoctions blended with rare whiskies and home-grown botanicals, we’ve rounded up some of the finest cocktails in the city – and the restaurants that serve them.

Moon Bar: cocktails in the clouds

Located 61 floors above the ground, Moon Bar boasts the best view of Bangkok’s stunning skyline that the city has to offer. Moon Bar is located at the top of Banyan Tree Bangkok, one of the tallest buildings in the city. Connected to the prestigious alfresco restaurant, Vertigo, Moon Bar will put you at ease and mesmerize you to the fullest.

Get to Moon Bar half an hour before sunset to watch the spectacular array of colours settle over the Bangkok horizon. While you watch the sunset, you can enjoy an assortment of classic cocktails and original drinks including the Vertigo Sunset, a tropical concoction of Malibu rum, pineapple, cranberry and citrus. With a 360-degree view of the horizon, remarkable cocktails, impeccable service and good vibes, Moon Bar will undoubtedly give you a night to remember.

Issaya Siamese Club: mixology with a dash of history

Issaya Siamese Club is a multi-level restaurant and lounge situated inside a 100-year-old colonial villa. It boasts a gorgeous outdoor garden terrace, a spacious private dining room and multiple lounging areas. Its ambience is inspired by an old-fashioned ‘members’ club’, so dining and drinking here will teleport you back in time.

Issaya Siamese Club offers not only a true culinary experience but a beautiful selection of cocktails as well – using the freshest and most flavourful of ingredients, some even found in the restaurant’s garden. Enjoy its signature cocktails outdoors by the garden or inside on one of the multiple levels of the heritage building.

SEEN Restaurant & Bar: rooftop views & Brazilian vibes

SEEN Restaurant and Bar is a multi-levelled, Portuguese and Brazilian-inspired eatery and lounge located 26 stories above the streets of downtown Bangkok in the Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel. After creating a name for himself in Sao Paolo, Lisbon and Los Angeles, chef Oliver da Costa brings his skills to Bangkok with this exciting and hip indoor-outdoor experience with expansive views of the city and the Chao Phraya River.

Along with the classics, SEEN Restaurant and Bar hosts an original ‘seven deadly sins’ inspired cocktail menu, featuring a specific concoction for each sin, crafted by professional mixologists. Choose your sin and relax on a comfortable day bed with a glass in-hand at the lounge deck and rooftop bar, situated above the eating area, complemented by groovy beats.

Diplomat Bar: cocktails with a side of live jazz

Resting on the first floor of Conrad Bangkok, Diplomat Bar favours modern Thai elegance and timeless style. The interior design is ambient and soothing with warm orange lighting and comfortable dark-toned furniture. Sip on an expertly mixed drink to the tinkling sounds of live jazz musicians, playing from Monday to Saturday.

Diplomat Bar serves an assortment of delectable tipples, from an extensive wine menu to classic liquors and exciting cocktails, along with seasonal dining. Wind down after a busy day of exploring the city and allow the sounds of jazz to waft over you.

Lennon’s: speakeasy vibes

Hidden away on the 30th floor of Rosewood Bangkok Hotel, Lennon’s is a stylish speakeasy with the atmosphere of an old-school recording studio. When you leave the elevator on your way in, you will be greeted with Lennon’s music space, which boasts over 6,000 vinyls and a large collection of cassette tapes. DJs play music from Tuesday to Saturday and will take requests.

The lounge area hosts floor-to-ceiling windows that invite guests to admire the shimmering lights of the city down below. With signature cocktails named after famous musicians and their genres of music, Lennon’s takes its patrons on a comfortable ride through the 1950’s to 1970’s greatest hits. While its signature concoctions are something to write home about, its selection of rare whiskeys is well worth delving into.
